Staying Safe in Cyberspace
Full Description:
The Bergen Family Center’s Englewood Coalition for Adolescent Youth, the Englewood Community Policing Unit and Sonrise Development are sponsoring a free workshop on internet safety at the First Baptist Church in Englewood on February 21st.
Your child's best online protection is you and by talking to your child about potential online dangers and monitoring his or her computer use, you'll be helping your child to surf the internet safely. This workshop explores the ways you can educate your child about the online risks and to take an active role in protecting your child from internet predators and sexually explicit materials that are online.
By educating your child in internet safety you’ll teach them that he or she can benefit from the wealth of valuable information the Internet has to offer, without being exposed to any potential dangers.
The workshop is being presented by officers from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit. Registration begins at 6:30 and the program begins promptly at 7pm.
For further details please e-mail Det. Lt. Andrew Donofrio at ADonofrio@bcpo.net or contact Vernedra Williams, Coordinator for the Englewood Coalition for Adolescent Health at 201.862.6285.
